A metal Venetian blind is continually pierced and rattled by a rapidly moving loop of shirring elastic. As the loop moves in and out of the blind, a series of knots tied along its length simulate the sound of a moving train. The blind as a controlled baffle and mediator of light is rendered a point of 2 -way repeated entry from exterior and interior. With a reference to film noir, the loop becomes a projected line of site, like a bullet trajectory – the single point of entry/exit, touch and sound become the point of focus over peripheral vision.
